Slaap in Kaapstad:
“So vanaand het ek alweer die Kaap Hollands gemaak. Ai, wat is dit met my, dat as ek eers daardie eerste glas wyn drink in die stad, ek op die laaste sluk van daardie glas weet: “Aleit, vanaand word daar nie huis toe gery nie.”
Best self-catering Accommodation in Cape Town:
Aleit visiting Cape Town, is synonymous with Aleit booking an overnight stay in de Waterkant, and no other hospitality group than Village and Life is on speed dial. Village and Life is innovative and well known for luxury-, more welcoming- and unique self-catering accommodation. Included in their portfolio, is hospitality villages in the Western Cape, offering quality accommodation ranging from affordable three star serviced apartments to superior five star hotels, in the Cape’s most desirable locations. Camps Bay, Hermanus and Langebaan are just a few of their show stopper owned establishments. Some of the locations boast with extraordinary views of the ocean, adding tranquillity and a feeling of peacefulness. (I always opt for the apartments in de Waterkant. It is trendy, luxurious, yet feels like a mini home away from home. A crash pad on speed … )
Things to do in Cape Town
It always starts with a glass of wine at The Piano Bar, and post dinner, the “festivities” ends off at The Piano Bar, before The Hillside De Waterkant is a chic enclave centred on Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village, a small, upscale mall with fashion boutiques, artistic shops and gourmet (and also low-key) restaurants. Recently I accidentally stumbled upon an article, where it read: “The Waterkant cottages add a pop of colour”. This in my opinion is an understatement. I say this respectfully. I absolutely love the buildings painted in a vibrant array of rainbow streaks. Rather applicable to the area too. Dit sê ek tong in die kies.
So ons kyk na historiese geboue van die institusie, wat trots is op erfenis. And so it was once again a joy to be able to spend a night or two, in these “rich with heritage” spaces. Personally I am a big fan of Cape Dutch mix with Georgian architectural style.
The late Night Cape Town Lifestyle we all want to experience
Voor ek ophou skryf, dink ek vlugtig oor die volgende: “I believe, many a late night bookings are made at Village and Life, due to the buzzing nightlife scene here and surrounding areas offering an abundance of bars, clubs and great dance spots.”
And so thankful that the V & A and buzzy, now hottest place to be, Seapoint, is only a taxi ride away. Go and have fun, and no need to go out on the roads, as there is no need for YOU to drive.
Such an happy, quality, yet more informal alternative, when craving a spectrum of Cape Town bliss.
